Polytek Offers Amazing Advantages in Architectural Finishes
Let’s continue shining the spotlight on a new line we’re proud to carry at Chemical Concepts: Polytek. Our customers are thrilled with the huge array of cost-effective, high performance options that using Polytek products offer for cast stone veneer and concrete form liners.
Cast Stone Veneer
For high-volume veneer stone production, we recommend using Polytek room-temperature curing, liquid polyurethane or silicone mold rubbers.
Features and Benefits of Polytek Products for Use with Cast Stone Veneer
Liquid polyurethane or silicone mold rubbers from Polytek:
- Capture excellent surface detail,
- Can be completed in a much shorter time frame compared to latex rubber molds (with approximately 16 hour demold times).
- With proper maintenance, these molds will last for several years and produce thousands of stones.
Two Polytek Products to Consider for Use with Cast Stone Veneer
Poly 74-20 Liquid Rubber – Popular for Multi-Cavity Molds
Poly 74-20 Liquid Rubber is a two-part, liquid polyurethane system that cures (RTV) to a yellow, Shore A20 rubber. This is the softest rubber in the Poly 74-Series line of polyurethane mold rubbers. Poly 74-20 is a pourable rubber, but it can be easily thickened with an appropriate thickener for brush-on application
Poly 74-45 Liquid Rubber – Popular for Panelized Systems
Poly 74-45 Liquid Rubber is a two-part, liquid polyurethane system that cures (RTV) to a yellow, Shore A45 rubber. This is a pourable rubber, but it can be easily thickened with an appropriate thickener for brush-on application.
Poly 74-Series Liquid Rubbers consist of two parts (A and B), which, after mixing, cure at room temperature to flexible, high-strength, mold rubbers. Poly 74-Series Rubbers make durable, easy-releasing molds for casting plasters and waxes without release agents. When Poly 74-Series molds are properly prepared, they are also excellent for casting concrete and various resins, such as epoxy, polyester, polyurethane and acrylic.
Concrete Form Liners
Polyurethane liquid mold rubbers from Polytek are great options for use in creating custom flexible rubber inserts or form liners that are placed into a rigid form. These highly detailed liners are often used to cast decorative concrete panels, wall blocks, fencing, retaining walls and sound barriers. Liners can be easily removed from the form for demolding or replaced when a change in texture is desired. Polytek polyurethane rubbers can meet the demands of any size liner.
Two Polytek Products to Consider for Use with Concrete Form Liners
Poly 74-29 Liquid Rubber – Popular for Gasket Panels for Brick Veneer
Poly 74-29 Liquid Rubber is a two-part, liquid polyurethane system that cures (RTV) to a Shore A30 rubber. This product is available in white or black. This is a pourable rubber, but it can be easily thickened with an appropriate thickener for brush-on application.
Poly 75-65 Liquid Rubber – Popular for Vertical Stamping
Poly 75-65 Liquid Rubber is a two-part, liquid polyurethane system that cures (RTV) to an amber, Shore A65 rubber. This is a pourable rubber, but it can be easily thickened with PolyFiber II Thickener for brush-on application.
