Keep-Nut Wall-Mounting with Sintra PVC Board
PVC board has become one of the ‘go-to’ materials commonly used in the signage industry. Available in a wide range of colors, styles, and sizes, it is solid throughout the substrate, allowing for easily customizable shapes and forms. The industry’s leading PVC board, especially for signs, has been Sintra- a moderately expanded, closed-cell polyvinyl chloride in a homogeneous sheet, with a low-gloss matte finish. One of the noted characteristics of Sintra’s PVC board is that it is lightweight, durable and less rigid. It is easily formed into just about any shape imaginable using wood and foam board fabrication techniques. This makes it the ideal material for companies installing mounted fixtures of all sorts and dealing with the limitations of a messy adhesive mounting process. That’s where the Keep-Nut™ shines.
At the moment, the Keep-Nut™ is commonly used in the fabrication market for sink and surface mounting, but its applications extend far beyond that- especially for use within the sign industry. This press-in, self-anchoring insert is absolutely perfect for wall-mounting signs, fixtures, wall coverings, ventilated facades, décor, and much more. It is specially manufactured for us by SpecialInsert® all the way from Italy, and does away with the standard ‘cold mounting’ installation process (or the application of a uniform coat of adhesive to the back of the artwork/fixture/sign for the purpose of mounting it). When using Keep-Nut for mounting, no adhesive is required!
Benefits of using the Keep-Nut™ for wall-mounting with Sintra PVC Board:
- 8.5mm in size – no visible hanging wires, bars, or the like
- Less material stress on board
- Usable with panels spanning a variety of sizes – including fairly thin panels (down to 6.5mm or ¼”)
- 90lbs. pull-out force for PVC board (other solid surfaces can have up to 562 lbs. pull-out force!)
- Easily installed in the smallest of fixtures/signs
- No cold-mounting or hot-mounting adhesives required = less mess!
- “No-through” threading of the internal bushing to prevent over tightening
- It’s just hardware – No cure time needed, save on time/labor
