How Should Urethane Adhesives Be Stored?
Successful businesses invest in many, many products – and know that proper storage is key to make these products last as long as possible. Adhesives, specifically urethane adhesives, can be tricky to store well so that maximum effectiveness is preserved. We turned to our friends at LORD adhesives for some answers on proper storage of a few of their popular urethane adhesives.
How should LORD urethane adhesives be stored?
LORD urethanes are moisture sensitive. Cartridges should be left in their mylar bag with descant until ready for use. Protect partial cartridges from moisture exposure by leaving the nozzle in place to act as a seal after each use. For maximum shelf life, after opening bulk container, replace cap or lid as quickly as possible and purge with dry nitrogen, if available. Urethanes should be stored between 18°C -30°C (65°F -85 °F). If stored at these cooler temperatures, allow product to return to room temperature before using.
